NEWSLETTER #73
by Wendel werner
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE WENDEL WERNER NEWSLETTER #73
Well....I'm just going to go ahead and assume that everyone is as grumpy as I am that school has started again. It DOES, however, have alot to do with everything I have do discuss for this month.
Let's start with thanking you, once again, for your patience as we work out all the kinks on the website. We have everything almost fixed. When you first get on the website, you now hear one of the songs that will be on the new "Loss" CD, coming out in October. The song is called "Can't find one." My understanding is that if you get tired of hearing it over and over...you can just hit the "escape" key on your computer and I will go away.
I have mentioned that I will soon be selling some of my arrangements, and printed music of some of my compositions, online. I figured that one of the best ways to promote this would be to have groups perform some of this stuff. So, I'm VERY busy writing music right now. There are choral groups in Virginia that have pieces of mine and choral groups in Memphis that have pieces of mine. I am currently writing arrangements for THREE high school choral groups in the Knoxville area. I am writing a song cycle for a University of Tennessee vocal major. And this September begins my fifth year as the director of the UT Singers, UT's jazz choir...and I do most of their arrangements. To make things even MORE fun, I've promised all these things i'm VERY flattered that people are interested...and I hope to have them all available for purchase at the same time the "Loss" CD becomes available. October ought to be the month of Wendel.
What about September?

SPECIAL GUEST AT REVIVAL AT TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
6:30 P.M.
FREE
The last newsletter had this performance on AUGUST 28...but it has since changed. This is why the newsletter is going out so early, so that everyone can get this info in time. Former JUST IN TIME member Sheryl Howard is in charge of this evening and she SAYS she has very exciting things for me to do. I haven't seen the music yet...but it seems that it involves some sort of solo I do with the choir. Please come and watch the choir make me look good.

WENDEL WERNER AT AFTER HOURS AT THE LAWSON - McGHEE LIBRARY W/SPECIAL GUESTS
KATHY SCHAEFER AND BRIAN HINMAN
6 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.
FREE
The library has decided that to have me perform one Friday a month instead of two starting in September. (Speak to them!!) and this month's performance will be FILLED with guests. KATHY is a gifted singer I worked with in Oak Ridge, TN. Years ago. BRIAN is this very talented performer that moved on to New York a few years ago and just so happens that he will be in town during this time. So, look how lucky I am....TWO people that will make me look bad. It will be a great evening...and FREE wine!!!
The University of Tennessee starts its classes on August 24th. Walters State Community College starts its classes on the 29th. My birthday is the 30th...so I'll be spending it in the classroom terrorizing college students. Pray for me.
Thanks for all your
support.
