NEWSLETTER #77
by Wendel Werner

HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE WENDEL WERNER NEWSLETTER #77

Hey there, everybody.

It seems that I've conjurned up all kinds of plans since I've last
talked to you. I've run into several of you who have said, "I can see by the
newsletter that you are very busy." Well, I'm going to give you a few more
reasons to say this.

*It looks as if Alan Eleazer and I will be going back into the recording
studio in mid-February to record an album of "Alan/Wendel-ized" hymns. We
have set some touring dates for May, so we plan to have the album ready by
then. The tour dates are May 13-19.

*I will be going back into the recording studio to do the next solo jazz
piano album in early March. So I'm in the process of finishing up some tunes
and trying them out at performances of mine. Be prepared for hearing some of
the new music if you come to one of my gigs. The next time I'm touring solo
is in August. The tour dates are shaping up nicely. There may even be some
dates in Canada. I'm looking toward an early August release for the new
cd...which doesn't quite have a title yet.

*School has startedat all the colleges I work for and the final numbers
are in. At Walters State Community College, with the 1 class piano course, 2
ear training courses, and one theory class...I have about 25 students total
twice a week. While at the University of Tennessee, with directing the UT
singers, teaching a class on world music, and two classes on the history of
rock and roll, i predicted that I would have about 800 students in the last
newsletter. It seems I was incorrect. It's about 900 students total.
