NEWSLETTER #98
by Wendel Werner
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE WENDEL
WERNER NEWSLETTER #98
I am SO sorry for it being this late in the month before I could get the
newsletter to you. It seems that my November has been so busy that I literally
couldn't get the time to sit down and type all this out. It also means that some
really important things have been missed. Things like:
The Knoxville Jazz For Justice Concert
This was a concert of jazz musicians raising money for women in Uganda so that
they can be allowed to educate themselves. It was an amazing performance of
really gifted players. I was flattered to be part of it.
The Wendel Werner Concert at Maryville Friends Church
This church allowed me to come do a concert, to a packed room on a SATURDAY
AFTERNOON, bring about 12 people with me to perform, AND THEY FED US ALL A
THANKSGIVING MEAL. Needless to say, we'll try to get back there soon if for no
other reason tha t to experience that hospitality again.
The Knoxville Convention Center's Fifth Anniversary Gala
This was an event that had many important members of the Knoxville community
present including a couple of important newscasters and the mayor. It was quite
nice to be asked to play for this event.
So...the question now is what have you NOT missed in the month of November?

BEARDEN MIDDLE SCHOOL CHORAL CONCERT

Elizabeth Attaway is the choral director at Bearden Middle and we've known each

Well, it's not REALLY free. The church is asking that bring either a can of food
or a wrapped toy so that they can make some donations for the holiday season.
In the meantime, I think this is the fifth time I've been at this church this
year. This time, I'm bringi ng Sandra Porter as a special guest so that more
people can hear what she can do. AND...I'll be doing a duet with someone from
the church. I think it's going to be something quite special.
Alright...that gets us into the month of December. And of course there are some
things that you may want to go ahead and get into your schedule for December:
